The original systems adopt conventional asynchronous motors, which suffer low efficiency at low speeds, low power factor and frequent maintenance. As the workshop cooling load fluctuates, the fans often operate at medium and low frequencies, making the energy waste and reliability issues of the old motors more prominent.
To cut production operating costs, improve system efficiency and meet energy conservation and emission reduction requirements, the enterprise launched the cooling tower motor energy-saving retrofit project. The existing asynchronous motors are replaced with high-efficiency permanent magnet synchronous motors. Taking full advantage of the high efficiency of permanent magnet motors under medium and low frequency conditions, the retrofit reduces power bills, lowers maintenance workload and improves operational stability without disrupting normal production.
